DTE-Programm

Nachtrag zum Installation:

Unter bestimmten Umständen startet das Programm nach der Installation nicht von allein. Sie müssen es dann selbst starten, wie Sie es auch bei einem weiteren Benutzen tun müßten. Öffnen Sie auf Ihrer Festplatte (C) den Ordner dte-demo, und klicken Sie doppelt auf das Symbol "run". Evtl. startet das Programm nur als Symbol in der unteren Leiste Ihrer Windowsoberfläche. Sie müssen dann auf den Schalter mit der Bezeichnung "Dynamische..." klicken, um es in den Vordergrund zu holen.
Wir empfehlen, zur Nutzung des DTE-Programms einen Rechner mit Windows NT oder Linux als Betriebssystem!


Problembehebung unter Windows 95:

Lesen Sie bitte weiter, falls unter Windows 95 eines der folgenden Probleme auftritt:

1.Der X-Server startet nicht
2.Meldung »demo.exe: can't open display, exiting...« (oder eine ähnliche Meldung)
3.Das DTE-Programm baut die Meüzeile nicht vollständig auf, das Programm scheint zu hängen
4.Das DTE-Programm wird in dunkelblau mit schwarzer Schrift dargestellt, die kaum lesbar ist

Es ist nötig, eine TCP/IP-Anbindung zu konfigurieren (nicht zu starten), mit der der X-Server Kontakt aufnehmen kann.
Befolgen Sie bitte die folgende Anleitung. Sie finden Sie auch unter http://www.winfiles.com/howto/ppp.html. Starten Sie anschließend den X-Server neu!

Step 1: Verify that Dial-up Networking is Installed
       Press the  button, select Settings..., then Control Panel. Double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon. Select the Windows Setup tab, then click on the
       Communications option and press Details.... Make sure that the Dial-up Networking option is selected. If it is, go on to step 2. If it isn't, select it and click OK. Windows 95 will attempt to install the needed drivers, so make sure you've got your installation disks or CD handy! Now that Dial-up Networking is installed, you can proceed to step 2.

Step 2: Verify that the Dial-up Adapter and TCP/IP Protocol are Installed
       Press the  button, select Settings..., then Control Panel. Double-click the Network icon. You'll see a dialog box like this. Make sure the
       Configuration tab is selected. Both Dial-Up Adapter and TCP/IP should be present , then you're ready to proceed to step 3.
       To add the Dial-Up Adapter, hit the Add... button, double-click Adapter, then scroll down the list until you can select Microsoft. Choose the Dial-Up Adapter and  hit OK.
       If you need to install TCP/IP, hit the Add... button, double-click Protocol, then select Microsoft, then TCP/IP, and hit OK.
       Now your Network dialog box should contain both Dial-Up Adapter and TCP/IP. Select the adapter, click Properties..., Bindings, and make sure the TCP/IP box is checked.

zu 2.:

Die DISPLAY-Umgebungsvariable ist nicht gesetzt. Starten Sie das Programm immer mittels "run"!


zu 3.:

Das ist ein merkwürdiges Problem, das nur unter Windows95 auftritt. Das Programm hängt nicht wirklich.
Lösung: Manchmal hilft mermaliges Drücken der "ESC"-Taste. Sollte dies nicht nützen, so müsssen Sie ein wenig tricksen. Öffnen Sie ein über die Leiste am unteren Rand Ihrer Windowsoberfläche das Fenster "Demo", so daß dieses Fenster über dem DTE-Programm zu liegen kommt. Minimieren Sie es anschließend wieder (nicht schließen). Evtl. wiederholen Sie dies zwei- oder dreimal. Anschließend sollte das DTE-Programm wieder laufen.


zu 4.:

Dieses Problem tritt bei einigen Windows95-Rechnern auf.
Abhilfe: Schließen Sie alle anderen Anwendungen. Wenn möglich, lassen Sie Ihren Rechner mit *mehr* als 256 Farben (z.B. High Color) laufen.
