Prior to this position, she was the Director of Training at Avalanche Development Company, where she was highly involved in setting methodologies for SGML education, including creating, editing and delivering courses on SGML and SGML products. Ms. Sandstrum has spoken numerous times on topics from SGML and HTML to SGML product technologies. Ms. Sandstrum received a B.S. in Cognitive Science with a minor in Business at the University of California, Los Angeles. Eric Severson Mr. Severson is a vice president in the corporate development group of Interleaf, Inc., and a founder of Avalanche Development Company, acquired by Interleaf in 1993. Before founding Avalanche in 1985, Mr. Severson was Manager of Systems Planning and Analysis at NBI, Inc. From 1980-1981, he was a manager in the consulting division of Arthur Young & Co., and began his career in 1978 as a management consultant for Arthur Andersen & Co. A frequent conference speaker on SGML, document management and the Internet, Mr. Severson is President and a member of the board of directors of the SGML Open vendor consortium, and a member of the board of directors of the Graphic Communications Association (GCA).
