With the formation of the organization in 1993 and the incorporation in 1995, a major milestone was laid for the continued growth of the CALS community and the adaptation of CALS related strategies in commercial, defence and aerospace applications. We define CALS as follows: CALS is a global strategy to further enterprise integration through the streamlining of business processes and the application of standards and technologies for the development, management exchange and use of business and technical information. This group represents over 150 participants and unites industry, academia and government in its efforts to contribute to the adoption of national and international standards and to propose solutions to the challenge of integrating technical information systems in the business environment. The CCISG concentrates on all aspects of technical information management, including concurrent engineering, automated procurement, technical documentation, training and other associated enterprise information systems. This conference will offer you an opportunity to familiarize yourself with some of these strategies, to understand current trends and developments and finally you will be able to assess opportunities and applications for your businesses. The conference will be of interest to: * managers in charge of company information systems; * managers of technical departments, such as engineering and logistics; and * personnel in charge of electronic marketing and electronic transactions. We are looking forward to meeting you during our conference on April 17, 1996.
